We use SA Domain for all our domain registrations and hosting but the choice is yours whom you want to use as they become your Service Providers and any questions relating to emails, domains and hosting goes through them.
What is web hosting? Web hosting is the process of renting space and bandwidth through a company so that your website will be online. It means that you can publish your website so that anybody in the world can visit your website on the Web.
Web hosts are companies that rent out their services and technologies to host websites on the internet. Once the hosting company hosts your website, users can access it by typing in your web address (domain name) in their web browser. When they do this, their computer connects to the server your website is hosted on.
What are the costs for hosting? |
Hosting companies differ in price, most charge high costs so it is best to look around.
we use SA Domain for our hosting but the choice is yours to use whomever you want.
Website hosting starts at R36 per month and is all dependent on a few things:
– Size of your website
– How much traffic your website receives
– How much emails you send and receive
The general rule is that you start with what you can afford and upgrade when necessary. We start most off with an Essential Hosting package with is R36 per month but normally one ends up upgrading to the Midway package of R56 per month.
You get a discount for paying for the full year and plus, it makes it so much easier for you instead of doing monthly payments.
Remember that if you have used up your bandwidth then your website and emails go down so best keep an eye on that. Should it go down, contact the Service Provider directly.
Bandwidth is defined as a range within a band of frequencies or wavelengths. Bandwidth is also the amount of data that can be transmitted in a fixed amount of time. For digital devices, the bandwidth is usually expressed in bits per second(bps) or bytes per second.
